This was a great project to work on. The views from the site were fantastic to spectacular. My morning started with a hike up through the bush, beside a creek to the work site. It was a peaceful relaxing warm-up to the hard work of the day.The home is concrete and wood frame.
The lower floor is concrete with nine foot ceilings. The garage was three steps up and on the same lower level. The first floor and office area we're a hardwood covered concrete floor. From here the house is wood framed in a post and beam style. The roof is hand cut with big vaults. The space is very open. An arched vault runs the length of the corridors on the first and second floor. The curving stair case runs from the lower level continuously up through the first and second floor.
There was also a lot of concrete outside. The yard was terraced for gardens and a stone over poured concrete wall was built around the property. A private garden in the back of the first floor had a serene water wall.

Hand cut vaulted roof over Master Bedroom.

During the time we were working on the place the home across the street was built. It's owner was Todd Bertuzzi and family. It was just before and through the time he clocked the Avalanche player. He had a steep and awkward driveway and he would have to back his wife's truck out to the street because she just could not do it.

This home is situated in Larson Bay at the entrance to West Vancouver's Howe Sound.
The serenity and beauty of this location, with Eagles soaring in the backyard
and inviting crystal clear waters lapping at the shoreline, is enchanting.

Spectacular, with the cruise ships passing in the
Straight of Georgia, at the entrance of Howe Sound.
It's like you're looking out of a treehouse.

The renovation was done in stages with
the rear facade of the original structure remaining intact
until the majority the new construction was completed. This was done to accommodate the grand fathering clause of the homes site location.
